Video Editor for a YouTube Channel (US-based/Remote)

We are looking for a Video Editor with prior experience working on YouTube channels who understands retention, pacing, storytelling, and content structure.
The core responsibility of this role is editing long-form YouTube videos and short-form content. In addition, the editor will also design YouTube thumbnails to support better click-through rates. Social media graphics are a bonus, but not required.
This role is ideal for someone who cares about quality, watches YouTube actively, and understands what keeps viewers engaged.
Responsibilities:
- Edit long-form YouTube videos with strong pacing and storytelling
- Create short-form vertical clips for YouTube Shorts, Instagram Reels, and TikTok
- Improve viewer retention through clean cuts, structure, and flow
- Add music, sound effects, and simple transitions where appropriate
- Maintain brand consistency in editing style
- Work closely with the creative team and incorporate feedback
Additional Responsibility — Design
- Design YouTube thumbnails for uploaded videos
- Ensure thumbnails are visually clear, engaging, and aligned with the brand
- Make simple iterations when needed based on feedback
Requirements
- Experience editing YouTube videos
- Understands retention, pacing, and storytelling
- Can edit both:
- Long-form YouTube videos
- Short-form content (Shorts, Reels, TikTok)
- Proficient in Premiere Pro, Final Cut Pro, or DaVinci Resolve
- Able to create basic YouTube thumbnails using Photoshop, Canva, or similar tools
- Detail-oriented and quality-focused
